When all seems fated to a sixteen-year-old dreamer stuck in between the cracks in the education system, a pretty little opportunity flies past her giving her enough hope to believe that her silly dreams still had a chance against reality. Though she manages to quickly cling on to it before it takes off to ‘wherever-nice-things-are-from’, will it hold her long enough to carry her away, without letting her slip into an eternal abyss of Grown Ups, and all the things they brainwash children into believing in the name of raising them right? Her diary tells it all.
It’s all a metaphor, by the way.
Nobody is literally clinging on to any flying objects here.
