10 Things that People Say to Introverts that They Shouldn’t

Dear extrovert,

You already know what you’re getting into. So, don’t blame me for hurting your feelings.

๐Ÿ™‚

Here are 10 Things People say to Introverts that piss us off real bad every single time –

(All said to me for real by real human beings)

(I promise)

1. “You should talk more.”

Sigh.

2. “You’ll love being an extrovert, trust me.”

Oh, really?

Trust me –ย you’ll love minding your own business.

3. “You must have a really sad life.”

With people like you around? Totally.

4. “I think you’re just too lazy to talk to people.”

I think so too.

5. “Don’t be so quiet all the time.”

*creeps you out with MORE QUIETNESS*

*evil laugh*

6. “You’ll never learn anything new if you never open your mouth and experience life.”

Experience life by opening my mouth? ._.

What?

7. “You’re missing out on all the good things in life.”

I’m sure our definitions of “good things in life” differ to such an extent that I shall not even try to make you understand what mine sounds like.

8. “People will never like you if you keep being this person.”

Like I didn’t know that already. People are so people. You try living your lives for them, they will show you how “people” they are and you end up stranded in your room, laughing at yourself in the mirror, for letting them fool you your entire life. Speaking from experience.

9. “The world only wants/likes/needs more extroverts.”

I agree that it always seems like the extroverts run the world. But who do you think creates that world for you in the first place and gives you all a job to do?

10. “When are you ever going to get over this phase?”

Did you just say phase?

Oh babe, you just started another World War.

*goes online and finds the introvert army*

Okay. Jokes apart, introverts aren’t the quiet, creepy, lonely individuals you assume them to be. And for all the people who think they’re missing out on life or not experiencing it completely by choosing to not be a part of the extrovert’s world, you’re very wrong. We all experience life differently and if you lived life the way we did, you wouldn’t like a thing just like we wouldn’t like yours. So stop forcing us to be more like you when you know there isn’t a chance you’d even try to be us.

Everything in the world exists for a reason. Every beautiful thing needs an ugly counterpart to make it realize it’s worth. And extroverts are the ugly to our beautiful.

Fine, fine, don’t get mad. Extroverts are beautiful too.

But introverts are slightly better.

Maybe a little more than just slightly.

Peace out.

Me trying to be interactive –

Would you say you’re an introvert or an extrovert? Now don’t say you’re both. Everybody is both in one way or the other, but all of us have one counterpart we’d like to identify ourselves with better. A label we’re more inclined towards. A tribe we’re proud of calling ourselves a part of.

So. Introvert or Extrovert?

  1. I remember being told that my life is so sad and that I’m not living my life. Why must we confirm to rules that the extroverts have set!

  2. Love your responses to the questions. We are given two ears, two eyes but only one mouth. There is a reason ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Introvert all the way. Have heard a lot of these before and it can be frustrating, but hey, that’s just me. Take it or leave it!

  4. Introvert of course, and I never had real problems anywhere on our planet. Why? I am able to listen before speaking myself. Sometimes it is even better to simply say nothing.
